SM entertainment (long rant)
I’m getting sick and tired of people jumping on the bandwagon when it comes to hating SMent. I’m not saying they’re the best company out there because they’re obviously not, but they’re not as bad as they’re persieved to be. If they’re really that bad then wouldn’t you think a lot more SM Town artists would’ve left by now and followed JYJ and Hangeng. Of course the contracts are really long and they really shouldn’t be, but to be fair, they signed it themselves. They knew what they were getting themselves into and if they didn’t like it they should’ve said no and not signed it (sorry to be harsh but it’s the truth)
I get annoyed when I read things about how SM don’t allow their artists to date or have twitter. Seriously? When it comes to dating I think SMent gives their atists a lot of freedom compared to a lot of other companies out there. And as for SMent “not allowing” their aritsts to have twitter, what? You can’t be serious. The majority of Super Junior, BoA, Jungmo (Trax) etc. have accounts though. I’ve seen a lot of Shawols blaming SMent because SHINee haven’t got twitter but the thing is, they already have me2day, which is the Korean equivalent, and they barely have time to update that so chances are they won’t have enough time to update on twitter either. As for SNSD, I think the members realise they still have quite a large anti-fanbase out there judging by what happened to Jessica’s twitter so they’re wary about joining it themselves.
Tbh, there are a lot worse companies out there but because they’re less known they can get away with it. There are companiese out there that make their aritsts work just as hard than SM artists do or even harder, especially rookie groups. According to U-Kiss they don’t have any breaks (unless it’s a national holiday) which is pretty sad and as far as I know, SM does allow their artists to have a week or so off after promitions.
A lot of these k-pop news website don’t give the best translation and things can be misinterpreted. And people need to stop blaming Lee Soo Man for everything. He ISN’T the CEO anymore
s!b: unpopular opinion
i have a love-hate relationship with SMENT… but with the twitter/me2day accts.. i think it’s quite absurd too for the fans to think the artists don’t have accts bcoz the mngt isn’t allowing them to have this kind of communication…they’re just too busy… i understand this too..bcoz i’m quite busy these past few days (just a past few days.. but DAMN) i’m super tired and didn’t have the chance to be online for almost a week….i’m just happy if i see members tweet (even if it’s “once in a blue moon”..) letting us know what they’re up to these days.
